Hi Jennifer - I had a similar eerie experience at my dad's old place before we sold the parcel with the house he was born in and lived in as a child. Long abandoned, it had the same feeling of something "being there" when we went in. I described it here: http://passingthru.com/sentinel (I think that's the link).

I think we can all train ourselves to be more sensitive to these encounters and it opens up a lot of insights.

I love this post! I know for certain my mother and father have communicated with me. They even sent a song through me, which I affectionately refer to as "my happy little song about death".

When my parents are around, everything looks brilliantly beautiful to me. I don't know how else to explain it. That is how I felt when the song came out of me.

Karl and I were at his family farm on Sunday. I could feel the presence of his brother. It was thick in the air. That is why Karl goes there.

Hi Cath - the impression I got from the "visit" was that we're vaporous. It seemed as though Phil was in every molecule of air in the room when we were communicating, and the room definitely felt empty immediately after we concluded. We haven't tried to formally summon him, but when we talk about him or there is skepticism, he makes a little move by leaving a dime or messing up electronics. For example, when Pete and I flew to Alaska this summer, there was a dime smack dab center in the aisle between us (we always take opposing aisle seats for more leg room). It was like, "Oh, hiya Phil."

Another time, my teenage daughter and I were in an elevator - after she had told someone she thought I was off my rocker about this, and instead of going down it went up to 6, down to 4, up to 5 and down to 4, and then finally down to 1 where we wanted. June 4, 1954 is my birthday. Phil knew it because his is in June, too. We ran out of the building to the car! hahaha

That is brilliant - I'd still like to know where we're going to be communicating from though. Do you remember the film - "Ghost"? I wonder if it's anything like that.

Hi Cath - No, Phil was a dear friend of mine, and yes, he's been communicating with us in the different ways I described. I think we will know and then we can do the same thing!
