PRAY WHITHER SAILED THOSE SHIPS ALL THREE . . .

Pete took this photograph in Hong Kong many years ago.  These three speedy little water taxis deftly wend their way through a complicated maze of moorings – a different take on the metaphor for the universal message in the traditional English carol.  Merry Christmas!

I saw three ships come sailing in
On Christmas day, on Christmas day;
I saw three ships come sailing in
On Christmas day in the morning.

And what was in those ships all three,
On Christmas day, on Christmas day?
And what was in those ships all three,
On Christmas day in the morning?

Our Savior Christ and His lady,
On Christmas day, on Christmas day;
Our Savior Christ and His lady,
On Christmas day in the morning.

Pray whither sailed those ships all three,
On Christmas day, on Christmas day?
Pray whither sailed those ships all three,
On Christmas day in the morning?

O they sailed into Bethlehem,
On Christmas day, on Christmas day,
O they sailed into Bethlehem,
On Christmas day in the morning.

And all the bells on earth shall ring,
On Christmas day, on Christmas day;
And all the bells on earth shall ring,
On Christmas day in the morning.

And all the angels in Heav’n shall sing,
On Christmas day, on Christmas day;
And all the angels in Heav’n shall sing,
On Christmas day in the morning.

And all the souls on Earth shall sing,
On Christmas day, on Christmas day;
And all the souls on Earth shall sing,
On Christmas day in the morning.

Then let us all rejoice amain,
On Christmas day, on Christmas day;
Then let us rejoice amain,
On Christmas day in the morning.

    All that water makes me feel cold right now, brrr! The cold weather that you guys got last week has arrived here, and we’re not used to it being THIS cold. Wind chill last night of 5 degrees. No snow, though. Hope you and yours enjoy your snow and have a Merry Christmas!

  4. Awww! I love the pic, yet again. Forgive me, for I am not a fan of Christmas Carols!

    Hi Matthew – Thank you, we’re glad you like the photos. I can relate to what you’re saying. It seems that some music outlets play the same exact playlist over and over so that I feel like I liked the song the first thousand times I heard it, but no more. My brain clusters impressions and memories in the form of reminders, though – things remind me of other things, and all of a sudden here’s a series! :D

    I forgot to say that there’s something about this photo that makes it look like an oil painting.
