Spring has come late to Minnesota – meaning it’s not here yet, although there have been glimpses. We’ve got big fat robins at the feeder, and the days are longer – thanks to Daylight Savings Time. But, we’ve also had snow earlier in the week, about which I’m not complaining when we see what our brothers and sisters in North Dakota have had to deal with.
Anyway, we thought this amusing little video would lighten everyone’s mood heading into the first weekend in April. (Subscribers may have to click in to view.)
Are we all this crazy in Minnesota? Well yah shure, you betcha we are!

Hi Betsy!
Okay…you’ve been to Wisconsin — come on, tell me that deep down you want to moove here! You could wear that fancy yellow hat all the time!
I love this song…except it got a few things wrong – like the states – are in the wrong order!
And “Uff Da” – that was probably the first word I learned growing up!! Along with lutefisk (which we still eat…) and lefse…

Hi Kathy – That wasn’t me on the picnic table, that’s all I’m sayin’. Thanks!
Hi Lance – Uffda has to be the weirdest adjustment if you don’t grow up with it, but once you’ve made it your own, it works for everything, doesn’t it? Glad you liked it! Thanks.
Hi Betsy. See, I grew up with it, so it doesn’t seem strange at all to me. And yes, it’s used for everything – good, bad, it works for it all. For someone who hasn’t heard this – that word probably does sound a bit strange!

Nice to see a bit of Minnesota in that. “Uffda has to be the weirdest adjustment if you don’t grow up with it, but once you’ve made it your own, it works for everything, doesn’t it?” — We had a word like that in New York. Kind of like “uffda” backwards, without the da.

Hi Betsy. Oh this was great! The video and the music. My energy has been rather flat today and this got me jazzing in my chair. Thank you. Minnesota is crazy alive!

Hi Lance – Uffda!
Hi Dot – LOL! I think I know that word. Glad you enjoyed this.
Hi Davina – Well, you gotta think of something to do with winter 9 months out of the year! Thank you!
This was very funny! Almost makes me say goodbye to rainy Sweden and go there at once! UFFDA
Growing up in MN., I always thought “UF-DA” meant getting 8 inches, when you were only expecting 6. (of SNOW i meant!)
