Thank you – very good reminder post.

So much we lose when we begin to forget.

    Peace be with you.

Thank you for the remembrance, video, and scripture.

Hats off to the brave firefighters and emergency responders that terrible day. Because of 9-11, I took EMT classes and joined the fire department as a volunteer for a couple years, wanting to be prepared and useful for natural, medical, or man-made emergencies and disasters. Thank goodness no more attacks have come … yet.

Where has the time gone? With this recession, it’s easy to feel like the whole world is falling apart. But watching that video reminds me of how lucky we are just to be alive and safe.

I didn’t view the video because I want to avoid being retraumatized. Since I had lived in New York in the past and was living in the DC area when the attacks came, they affected me on two fronts. I’d celebrated my birthday at Windows on the World, the restaurant at the top of one of the Twin Towers. In just half an hour, all our feelings of safety were destroyed, along with so many lives.

    Hi Betsy,

9/11 will be a date most people will long remember. Although it’s been 8 years, in many ways it seems like just yesterday. My heart and prayers continue to go out to those who lost loved ones in the attacks.

The scripture you chose for the video is perfect. It’s a great reminder to keep the faith and “let not our hearts be troubled”.
