We are so pleased to report that the combined efforts of bloggers involved in the For Japan With Love Blogger Day of Silence have resulted in over $60,000 raised for ShelterBoxes. Each ShelterBox typically contains a disaster-relief tent, blankets, water storage and purification tablets, cooking utensils, a stove, a basic tool kit, children’s activity boxes and much more.
The project doesn’t end quite yet! If you’d like to participate, there is a two-day campaign to raise additional awareness starting today, March 30. Please consider An Event on Facebook: UNITE TO HELP For Japan With Love (click here to visit) in your activities today or tomorrow – March 30 – 31. Invite your own readers or friends on Facebook to participate, too!
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this initiative. Special thanks to Lucia Dinh of Utterly Engaged and Lydia Yeung of Ever Ours for conceiving this project.
The only way to deal with a disaster of this magnitude is individual by individual, family by family. May we all keep Japan in our hearts and minds as the slow process of recovery unfolds.

There should be more relief programs for Japan. Seems there was more hype for haite’s disasterous earthquake then for japan. I’ve done what I can for Haite, now i want to do what i can for Japan. I have friends and family stationed there in the military.

Hi Jasmine – I think it’s fairly easy to find a program you can get involved with to help Japan. You’re right, though, the suffering continues even when our attention has wandered to something else. Thank you.
