Ramada Phuket Deevana delivers solid 4-star services in a friendly, yet secluded environment convenient to Patong’s lively nightlife and beautiful beach.
Our Experience: Part of the Deevana Hotels & Resorts group, which operates in the Phuket and Krabi resort communities in Thailand, the Ramada Phuket Deevana is a bright, contemporary hotel situated approximately 10 minutes walk from Patong Beach on the nearby Andaman Sea.
Set back from Bangla Road where all the lively nightlife in Patong occurs, the hotel’s location was a perfect compromise: quiet enough for rest and secluded leisure, yet convenient to activities ranging from entertainment, dining and the beach.
We were immediately captivated by the whimsical elephant themed Asian décor, which appears in both public and private spaces.
Our Deluxe room was modern and spacious at 35 sq meters, with a private balcony. The king bed had four pillows and a comfortable bolster, with individual combination reading lamps.
Built-in entertainment system with 42” LED TV equipped with satellite channels and desk area were thoughtfully designed.
We had a roomy walk-in shower ensuite. Bath products were in pump dispensers (which we tend to prefer).
The room’s refreshment center was equipped with a mini-refrigerator and coffee bar, which extended from the exterior vanity area. This served as a divider from the sleeping/living area. This area also had generous cabinet shelving and a security safe large enough for both our laptops and other valuables.
Closet space was generous with cotton robes, slippers, beach tote, umbrellas, iron and ironing board.
Breakfast at the Ramada Phuket Deevana is simply terrific, with a full complement of Western and Asian favorites.
They cater to kids of all ages!
Food is available at the Café, the Bake and Bev casual lobby area and from Room Service 7am to 11pm. When we wandered down for a late (to us) dinner, we were regaled by a business gathering’s entertainment: a Thai comedian whom we couldn’t understand in the slightest, but who had the crowd laughing and clapping so much that it was infectious. Noteworthy is the hotel’s capacity to accommodate business groups of varying sizes as well as leisure travelers.
We were very impressed by the pool, which is located on the third floor of Building 1, which makes for great privacy. The pool has a children’s area with shallow depth, jacuzzi seating, loungers and sun umbrellas. If you want snacks and drinks, you can swim up to the bar, or have them delivered to you on the pool deck.
Adjacent to the pool area are the fully equipped fitness center and kid’s club with scheduled activities for kids between the ages of 4-12.
Also nearby the pool is the Orientala Wellness and Relaxation Spa, offering three massage rooms, steam baths and a signature private consultation service to determine harmonious body and mind therapies.
Favorite Details: The triple showerhead! Never before have we seen one like it, and it delivered a wonderful shower with an abundance of hot water (not always found in Thailand). The separated bath is a throwback design that we can recall in hotels from decades ago: shower and toilet were behind a sliding door, and vanity area was partially open to the rest of the room. This works for us: vanity mirror was never steamy – a little thing, but still.
The short walk to the beach was a definite plus in our book. We were close to the action, but far enough removed to consider our stay peaceful and private. And we loved how conducive the lobby furnishings were to get to know new friends over a drink.
Lighting in the bedroom area was task oriented. A nightlight option illuminated the space under our bedside tables while still allowing for sleep. Reading gooseneck spotlights were individually adjustable. The master bedside electrical console is a favorite of Pete’s, and there was an abundance of convenient electrical outlets for charging devices and working online with our laptops. The room’s air conditioning was powerful; so refreshing to be “home” after a day wandering in heat and humidity.

Our Rating: **** Solidly in four-star territory, the Ramada Phuket Deevana offers friendly full service for leisure and business travelers alike. Always smiling staff must be channeling the elephants in the décor: our preferences and room number were remembered without having to give them. Hotel amenities are well rounded. The hotel itself is spotless and gleaming. Truly a most enjoyable stay near one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
Disclosure: Our three night stay in a Deluxe King room including breakfast was compliments of Ramada Phuket Deevana. All beverages, other meals and expenses were on our dime.
