4 Great Los Angeles Outdoor Group Retreats

By Betsy Wuebker Leave a Comment

(Last Updated On: January 29, 2020)

Planning a group retreat is a great way to relax, interact, and bond with people very easily. This is because at the venue of a retreat, people are in a more relaxed mood; their guards are mostly down and are a lot friendlier than when they are elsewhere. If the weather is favorable, an outdoor retreat is quite the fantastic way to take team spirit up a few notches.

4 LOS ANGELES RETREATS

The average person spends a lot of time at work and, sometimes, this can get overwhelming even for the most hardworking people. This is where a retreat comes in. It also doesn’t have to be anything related to work as a retreat can be planned for a class trip and will also serve the same bonding purpose. You could also consider doing this during certain festivities if you plan to have a lot of family around. Los Angeles has amazing spots where you can do this. No matter the size of your group, these places can handle everyone comfortably. A good suggestion would be to consider Los Angeles bus rental options to help move people around so everyone is safe and accounted for. Using a bus rental service would also give you the opportunity to try different bus types based on preference. Here are some venues you should probably try.

Marina Del Rey

This is an amazing outdoor spot that is a bit popular and convenient for people in the area. If you like stand up paddle boarding or love kayaking, Marina Del Rey will easily impress you because it’s really beautiful and considerably calmer than most other places. There are sights, like the rows of yachts, that will enthrall you and your group. The Fisherman’s Village and Mother’s Beach are also accessible from here.

Los Angeles River Center and Gardens

This location is only a few minutes from downtown Los Angeles and just beside the Los Angeles River. It is an amazing facility that is very well suited for large groups who are looking to have an amazing time together. The Los Angeles River Center and Gardens features a small courtyard that serves as a beautiful scene for an entrance and also a main courtyard that is bigger and would really be appreciated by your group.

The Joshua Tree National Park

Named after the Joshua trees it features, this park is located close to San Bernardino and Palm Springs. It’s a fantastic location for a large number of people for many group activities. Firstly, it’s an amazing site for birdwatching as the park features over 250 different species including the great roadrunner, the northern mockingbird, and the verdin.

The park is also a great spot for hiking as it features numerous trails of varying distances, giving a hiker a few options. Furthermore, astronomy and stargazing are popular activities that take place within the park’s Joshua trees. If any member of the team feels particularly adventurous, they can do some rock climbing in different parts as long as they know what they’re doing and its safe. Lastly, many people visit the park for camping. For a fee, there are at least nine different campgrounds where your group, along with many other groups, can camp and interact.

The Ashram

If your group is looking for somewhere a bit more serene and relaxing, the Ashram is just the right choice. It’s a really relaxing retreat that offers a lot of activities that will refresh and energize your team. It’s located by the Santa Monica Mountains, and the serenity this venue offers in unmatched.

Los Angeles has a lot of spots that would be amazing for a group retreat. Depending on what you want, there are venues that favor lively activity more than serenity and others that might favor the latter over the former.  Plan this with your team and find out what most people would prefer and, if possible, you could make it last a few days and visit multiple venues.

Tips for Trip Success

Book Your Flight
Find an inexpensive flight by using CheapOAir, a favorite of ours because it regularly returns less expensive flight options from a variety of airlines.

Book Your Hotel or Special Accommodation
We are big fans of Booking.com. We like their review system and photos. If we want to see more reviews and additional booking options, we go to TripAdvisor.

You Need Travel Insurance!
Good travel insurance means having total peace of mind. Travel insurance protects you when your medical insurance often will not and better than what you get from your credit card. It will provide comprehensive coverage should you need medical treatment or return to the United States, compensation for trip interruption, baggage loss, and other situations.
