Home2 Suites by Hilton – Roseville Minneapolis showcases Hilton’s new, contemporary extended-stay concept in a great Twin Cities location.
Disclosure: We partnered with Visit Roseville and TPI Hospitality during our visits to Roseville, Minnesota and couldn’t have been more delighted by the experience.
Our Experience: We were excited to stay at the brand new Home2 Suites by Hilton – Roseville Minneapolis. A couple of months prior, we had been taken on a pre-opening tour to introduce us to the concept. Now, we couldn’t wait to experience the finished product.
Home2 Suites by Hilton was envisioned as a stylish option for mid-range, extended-stay guests. The design was developed to appeal to millennials, with bright, flexible public spaces which encourage community. Distinctive studio suite-like guest rooms in which you can sleep, work, relax, and even cook your own meals round out the profile. These pet-friendly hotels operate with a commitment to sustainable environmental practices and a community relations program which emphasizes giving back.
We walked into a bright, cheerful lobby area at the Home2 Suites by Hilton – Roseville Minneapolis, built by local TPI Hospitality hotel group. The colorful appointments and contemporary furnishings conveyed a sophisticated, uncluttered vibe that reminded us of Scandinavia, where we had recently visited. The atmosphere was inviting and we instinctively reacted: what a great place to hang out!
There was ample space to enjoy breakfast, use the business center facilities, hold an informal meeting, plop into a comfy chair and do some reading, or set up a laptop next to the 24 hour coffee station and TV. An alcove held a Pavilion Pantry mini-mart with snacks, microwave meals, drinks and travel size amenities for purchase.
Our room came with a wonderful kitchenette featuring full-sized refrigerator and dishwasher. We had plenty of dinnerware, cookware and flatware to prepare casual meals using the microwave. Home2 Suites by Hilton – Roseville Minneapolis provides two burner counter hot plates with cooking pans upon request. The kitchen sink even had a disposal! Supplies included dishwasher tabs, dish soap, cloth towels, paper towels, sponge, coffee and tea making supplies, a 4 cup drip coffee maker, kettle, toaster, and blender.
The living/sleeping area was delineated by a sliding curtain, and could be custom configured using a moveable table for work or living needs. The sofa bed offered additional sleeping space. The queen bed was made up with special Home2 microfiber bedding. It felt so soft and silky that I investigated the prices online out of curiosity.
Breakfast in the “Inspired Table” community area was served on china plates. There was a waffle maker and a yogurt bar with several toppings. While the hot breakfast offerings were pre-packaged and warmed in the microwave, they were tasty. We enjoyed breakfasting with the other guests, particularly the kids in one family who were really big eaters!
Favorite Details: I couldn’t believe I still had laundry to do after our previous stay, but at the end of a week back home in Minnesota that was the case. Home2 Suites by Hilton – Roseville Minneapolis has combined free laundry facilities with exercise/workout equipment in their Spin2Cycle space so you can kill two birds with one stone.
I settled into one of the colorful Adirondack chairs instead and used the handy folding table at the end of the dryer cycle. What a pleasant experience!
I liked how the moveable table doubled our workspace. This allowed Pete to use the desk and me to work in the living area. A quick re-organization enabled us to use the table for eating a home-cooked meal.
We were fascinated by how Home2 Suites by Hilton’s commitment to sustainability bore out in the day to day life at the hotel. The saline-based swimming pool is maintained using natural minerals. Unfortunately, it was closed for routine maintenance for a period of time during our stay. Off the pool area was a secluded back barbecue patio constructed with eco-friendly materials. Other outdoor space to relax at the front of the hotel featured indigenous plants designed to conserve water, and an atmospheric outdoor fire pit. Other details like CFL bulbs and the dual flush toilet in our suite also reflected the philosophy.
As with the other TPI Hospitality hotels we have visited, we were greatly impressed by the staff. Every team member, without fail, had a smile and engaging personality. Longer term guests were greeted by name. On the weekend, we were somewhat surprised to see the hotel filled with families and children. Upon further thought, it made perfect sense: the rooms at Home2 Suites Roseville Minneapolis are perfectly configured for family groups. Beth Altergott, TPI Hospitality’s Roseville Area Director of Sales, confirmed that they’ve been attracting a lot of families. “It was unexpected,” she smiled, “because we were really targeting millennials, but we love this happy accident!”
We could easily see how attractive the Home2 Suites option would be for extended stays in the Twin Cities.

Our Rating: ***** The combination of TPI and Hilton is hitting it out of the park at this property. Even with a couple of maintenance wrinkles attributable to the newness of the hotel, our stay was most enjoyable. We imagined ourselves using Home2 Suites by Hilton – Roseville Minneapolis as a home base while in the Twin Cities on future occasions. That’s about the strongest recommendation any hotel could boast: somebody who would love to live there full time. We’re betting it’s already happened.
