Haven Hua Hin is perfectly designed and privately situated to provide a heavenly five-star experience of respite and rejuvenation on the Gulf of Thailand.
Our Experience: Where to begin? Heaven has come to rest here on the Gulf of Thailand. Haven Hua Hin had us immediately upon arrival, with a welcome drink, a refreshing cold towel, and this view:
The minimalist, Eastern atmosphere throughout Haven Hua Hin is rendered in feng shui elements: fire, wood, water, earth, metal. You are soothed as all the cares of the outside world recede. Your world has been reimagined. The only sounds you hear are birds, the sea and the tinkling of shell chimes.
You get a sense of timelessness and luxury without needless fluff or superfluous aspects.
There is clarity, simplicity, and peace.
Our Deluxe Sea View room was a haven within Haven Hua Hin, with a balcony overlooking the ocean where we enjoyed morning coffee and afternoon drinks.
We had a king bed, individually controlled air-conditioning, an LCD TV with entertainment system, and daybed for lounging.
A large separate closet space and segmented bath with rain shower and soaking tub had sliding shoji-like screens for privacy.
The vanity area was equipped with locally crafted ceramics and basketry. Toiletries, towels, and amenities were luxurious and replenished liberally.
Wireless internet was spotty in our room, most likely because the building is partitioned in solid concrete. We got around this minor problem by working in the computer room, and conducting a Skype interview in the conference room. Staff members were committed to problem solving and mindful of our needs.
The onsite restaurant served breakfast buffet-style in the mornings, then reverted to lunch and dinner menus at midday and beyond. We ate several times by the sea, and once under open-air shelter when winds picked up. Haven Hua Hin’s location may or may not be convenient to dining outside the resort, depending upon your perspective. Tucked away as it is, we wanted to stay there. Fortunately, the menu was extensive and everything delicious.
Betsy enjoyed a luxurious combination package at the Haven spa – a sugar body scrub and anti-aging facial. The spa’s top floor treatment rooms and terrace have unobstructed views of the sea.
Favorite Details: The setting at Haven Hua Hin is achingly beautiful with a depth of serenity we’ve rarely seen in other hotel and resort properties. This is due to the interplay of surroundings, simple luxury and peaceful décor.

Our Rating: ***** A place called “Haven” needs to live up to its name. And “Haven” might be as understated a name for this place as its soothing, minimalist vibe. From the moment we arrived, we felt like we had entered a replenishing cocoon within which to escape the rest of the world. There was little to distract us from living in the moment amid the ever-present sound of the sea. Haven’s atmosphere of simple, calming luxury provides escape, respite, and carefree clarity.

Hi Nancy - I'll admit to standing in the water at the edge of the infinity pool and gazing out to sea for about half an hour. :-)
