This is a guest post by Catherine Lavinia. Business trips aren’t easy, despite the initial appeal of traveling as part of your job. When you get into the swing of traveling within the country and beyond as part of your job description, you’ll soon realize that constant upheaval and saying goodbye to your loved ones time and time again isn’t that great a feeling.

While trips within the UK are probably a little more tolerable than those further afield, it’s still essential that you try and ensure they’re as bearable as possible. If you find yourself heading to the North West soon, a stay in one of the Manchester airport hotels will ensure a pleasant stay, close to a city that has all of the amenities you could want to help you to tolerate your business trip as much as possible.

With the following tips and advice, you could ensure that your business trip goes by with as little stress as possible.

Pack Light

The last thing you want is to have to lug bags of stuff through the airport to find you’re over your cabin baggage limit and you have to fork out for your case to be placed into the hold. Make sure that what’s in your cabin luggage will last you the duration of your trip. Make the most of the allowances you’re eligible for and use every square inch of the space. Chances are you won’t need much other than your business wear, but pack a casual outfit just in case you have some time to yourself.

Skype

Wherever you have access to Wi-Fi, for example in your hotel, use it to call home as well as do your work. Seeing the faces of your kids will give you the strength you need to make it through your trip. Make sure you are aware of the costs before you use the net, though.

Eat Well

Flitting here there and everywhere will inevitably make your three square meals a day a little askew. Eat healthily where you can and avoid fast food alternatives to help keep your energy up.

Make your Manchester business trip as stress-free as possible and do what you need to do to see your career grow.

Tips for Trip Success

Book Your Flight
Find an inexpensive flight by using CheapOAir, a favorite of ours because it regularly returns less expensive flight options from a variety of airlines.

Book Your Hotel or Special Accommodation
We are big fans of Booking.com. We like their review system and photos. If we want to see more reviews and additional booking options, we go to TripAdvisor.

You Need Travel Insurance!
Good travel insurance means having total peace of mind. Travel insurance protects you when your medical insurance often will not and better than what you get from your credit card. It will provide comprehensive coverage should you need medical treatment or return to the United States, compensation for trip interruption, baggage loss, and other situations.
