Replacing: Fear with curiosity as we anticipate our move to a tiny little speck in the Pacific Ocean. There will be much to explore as we get acquainted with our new home.
Collecting: Moments plucked from ordinary days right now to store in future memories. Our new life will be very different than this one.
Evaluating: What goes along and what merely goes. It’s interesting to watch as the merely goes increase, and what’s going along dwindles to less and less. It feels good to find new homes for things we have loved, and it feels very light to realize how little we’re going to need.
Keeping: Art, photographs, cook and kitchenware, table, ghost chairs. If possessions reflect priorities, these decisions on what to keep reveal ours.
Meeting: Very much like real grownups, we held our annual corporate meeting last week. It was fun to see the focus sharpen, and exciting to plan projects out over the course of next year.
Anticipating: Visits with family over the holidays will have an aspect of finality, even if only temporary, this year. To be fully present in these moments is a great gift.
Appreciating: The most beautiful autumn in memory, and the opportunity to spend it with those who marvel at Nature’s display.
Awakening: Dormant creativity with the help of a skilled teacher. What fun to rediscover and nurture forgotten talent!
Reflecting: It’s a month of gratitude, and how grateful the wonderful people we know are for the things that make up their days.
Thanking: Our lucky stars for the opportunities we’ve been given to build the life we’ve envisioned.
Wishing: For all a sense of wonder, hope and peace as we enter the Season of Light.
