The world has changed a lot over the last hundred years. Countries which were once small have managed to get themselves a foothold in the modern economy, and small fry have become superpowers overnight. While South Africa isn’t quite there, it’s still been doing very well for itself given the past it has faced. With crime rates falling and quality of life going up, there’s never been a better time to visit this part of the world. To help you out, this post will be exploring some of the areas you may want to visit.

The Southern Coast: When thinking about South Africa, most people’s minds will go to Cape Town. As a popular port and tourist destination, anyone visiting this part of the country can expect a trip filled with hustle, bustle and culture. Like a lot of the venues in South Africa, Cape Town has a natural feel and is surrounded by natural wonders. Whether you want to climb a mountain, see the coast, or visit a lake, you have your pick. It is also close to South Africa’s wine country.

Inland (Rural): For some people, being on the coast won’t matter as much as being able to experience natural Africa. To make the most of South Africa’s living beauty, it’s best to stay somewhere inland without a large city setting. Finding accommodation in Bloemfontein or a similar town could be a great idea, as this would put you in the heart of the wilderness. You can expect some luxury even here. You can easily find hotels with three stars and up.

Inland (Urban): This option is for those willing to take on a little risk with their break. Johannesburg is one of the fastest growing cities in the world with economic and social progression evolving at a rapid rate. This presents some growing pains and has left the city feeling the brunt of a lot of crime. Alongside this, you have some of the most important natural areas in the world like the Cradle of Mankind. This thought to be the home of the first humans.

The Eastern Coast: The Eastern coast of South Africa also has loads to offer, especially for those looking for great beaches. Durban is one of the most popular venues for people visiting this part of the world. Don’t let this city fool you. It is home to a millionaire revolution going on right now in South Africa sparking a huge trend towards luxury in all aspects of society.

We hope you will feel inspired to start planning your trip to South Africa. This part of the world is filled with hidden treasures, offering a huge amount of variety and catering to any sort of traveler, whether you want a week on the beach or a fortnight exploring.

Tips for Trip Success

Book Your Flight
Find an inexpensive flight by using CheapOAir, a favorite of ours because it regularly returns less expensive flight options from a variety of airlines.

Book Your Hotel or Special Accommodation
We are big fans of Booking.com. We like their review system and photos. If we want to see more reviews and additional booking options, we go to TripAdvisor.

You Need Travel Insurance!
Good travel insurance means having total peace of mind. Travel insurance protects you when your medical insurance often will not and better than what you get from your credit card. It will provide comprehensive coverage should you need medical treatment or return to the United States, compensation for trip interruption, baggage loss, and other situations.
