Keeping track of your marketing strategy is a huge part of running your business. To succeed, you need to have good knowledge of your business performance at every point. With this, you can restrategize where necessary to improve your results.

Also, if you want to understand your target audience, and know the extent of your engagement and growth, then you must get analytical.

The problem is, analytics can be hard to track or even understand. There’s so much to calculate and it can get pretty overwhelming.

It doesn’t have to be, though. You only need to understand what the most important analytics are and how to make sense of them. In this article, we teach you how to do this.

Instagram Analytics: What is it and why is it necessary?

Instagram Analytics is an assessment of your brand’s reach and engagement on Instagram. Keeping tabs on your Instagram analytics will give insight into how well your content is doing.

With analytics, you won’t have to guess what is on the mind of your followers or what they like. Analytics will help you know what type of content your audience has an interest in and guide you through your content creation strategy.

If your goal on Instagram is to get more followers and increase brand awareness or make more sales, Instagram analytics will be of great help.

Tracking your business progress is just like losing weight. While it’s not the easiest of things to do,  it’s still worth it. But as much as you do have to work on your brand’s growth on the gram, you can trust Instagram to do most of the weight lifting for you.

Instagram Insight Tool

Instagram has an in-app analytic tool, which is called Instagram Insights. This feature is only available to business accounts. So, make sure to switch to a business account if you are yet to.

The insight tool will help you analyze your Instagram visibility, post Impressions and audience activity.

Because this tool comes with Instagram, tracking your impressions and overall performance on the app will be easy. The feature is also comprehensive and can help you reach your marketing goals faster.

1. Audience Analytics

Ideally, the kind of audience you have should influence a lot of the decisions you make for your brand. Why? You need to fashion your brand to suit their needs. This is why analyzing your audience is Important.

To see what your audience analytics is like, go to your Instagram insights, scroll down to followers and tap on it.

You will get an overview of your follower’s growth and audience demographic for the last 90 days.

The audience demographics are:

  • Top 5 Locations (i.e Cities and Countries)

6. Instagram Shopping Analytics

To see how well your shoppable posts are doing:

Go to Insights, scroll down to “Content You Shared,” and tap on the arrow next to your shoppable posts or stories. You can then sort your shoppable posts and stories by product-specific metrics such as:

  • Product views: the number of times a user tapped the product tag to view the product page on your post or story.
  • Product button clicks: The number of times people visited a product page from a post and then tapped the button on the product page.
  • Website clicks: the number of times users clicked on your website link in your bio

You can also check out more metrics for a single shoppable post. To do that, go to the post and tap View Insights under the post.

With Instagram shopping analytics, you can make changes to any of your marketing strategies that are not effective. From your product views and product button clicks, you can know which products your customers are interested in.  If a product has a high product view but low purchases, you may want to make your product description more catchy to make sales.

7. Instagram Guides Analytics

Instagram guides are collections of Instagram posts, products and locations. They’re like a mini-blog that you can use to educate your followers and even inspire them.

Currently, there is no specific metric for the Instagram guides. However, you can examine analytics for Instagram guides by checking the metrics for the original post.

To Wrap It Up

Instagram analytics is the way to go for brand growth and sales, it should be at the top of your Instagram marketing plan. It will give you a quick rundown of everything about your Instagram performance. To boost your marketing game, don’t sleep on Instagram analytics.
